Kayaking in the Whangaroa harbour is truly superb. There is no other place like it in New Zealand. It is the country’s deepest natural harbour, a sub tropical mini fiord with impressive steep rock formations, steep bush areas, islands and secluded cloves.

Just outside the harbour entrance there are caves and holes in the rock formations to explore. There are lots of beautiful, sandy beaches for a true sea kayak expedition. On the left there is Taupo Bay and Tauranga Bay is to the right.
